WHO WE ARE

Wish was founded in 2011 by a group of community education advocates and partners, specifically to help bridge the gap in state education funding and provide for student programs in the William S. Hart Union High School District. We serve nearly 23,000 students in grades 7 through 12. As a designated 501c(3) non-profit organization, the foundation acts as a separate and distinct entity that works alongside the Hart district to fund programs and initiatives not paid for by tax dollars alone.

OUR MISSION

The William S. Hart Education Foundation is dedicated to quality public education for all students. Through the generosity of our caring community and corporate partners, we fund programs and initiatives that go beyond what tax dollars provide and help elevate and prepare our students for life. WiSH is the official public charity 501(c)3 organization for the support of the William S. Hart Union High School District’s educational programs.

Pre-COVID, this program provided out-of-circulation chromebooks to keep, to anonymously identified, socioeconomically disadvantaged students needing computer access. Post-COVID, this program also provided chromebooks to students needing access to distance learning, keeping them connected during school closures.

With numbers of displaced and homeless students rising quickly during the pandemic, this ongoing program has distributed desks and chairs to any student in need, which has resulted in higher confidence and performance.

A focus of our foundation since 2019 and vital since the Saugus High tragedy, WiSH established and/or funded wellness centers on 14 campuses district-wide. These centers are safe spaces for students to de-stress and take advantage of wellness resources.

WiSH exclusively supports student programs district-wide, benefitting every single student.
